Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. in Dallas, Texas seeks an experienced Learning Resource Operations Manager to support the Director in day-to-day planning and operations of the Learning Resource area. You will coordinate and manage activities, supervise staff, and ensure data collection for federal and state reports.

Responsibilities include maintaining the area website, applying program policies, and collaborating with campus divisions to deliver student support services and outreach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field plus 4 years in an educational environment related to student development and/or support services.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field plus 6 years of experience in an educational environment related to student development and/or support services.
  • Requires 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Must have diplomacy, customer service, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, evaluates, develops and supervises instructional support staff.
  • Collects, manages, maintains, and interprets data for the area assigned and for reports.
  • Maintains the area website presence and information.
  • Works collaboratively with instructional divisions campus-wide.

Position Summary

This position supports the Director in the day-to-day planningand operations of the Learning Resource area. Responsible forplanning, coordinating and managing an area depending on assignmentin the instructional support services of the campus.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages the daily operations of theinstructional support area assigned.
  • Manages a wide range of instructional resources as assigned andprovides support services to support and assist faculty, staff, andstudent support services.
  • Evaluates, selects and recommends equipment and materialsutilized for instructional support including software and hardwareif applicable.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing the assigned areawebsite presence and information.
  • Supervision: Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating,developing and supervising instructional support staff as well asprovide day-to-day problem-solving and training of staff.
  • Responsible for collecting, managing, maintaining, andinterpreting data collection for the area assigned.
  • Collects and maintains statistical data needed in the evaluationof service usage and in the preparation of federal and statereports.
  • Works collaboratively in outreach efforts with instructionaldivisions and other areas across the campus.
  • May work with faculty and academic divisions in developing,administering and coordinating appropriate student support servicesrelated to student development.
  • May serve as Director in the absence of the Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
  • Requires a strong knowledge of a variety of software/hardwareprograms; the ability to utilize computer technology to accessdata, maintain records, generate reports and communicate withothers.
  • Ability to interpret and apply administrative and departmentalpolicies.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals fromdiverse backgrounds and to communicate effective both orally and inwriting.
  • Proven experience providing effective customer service.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Developmenttraining hours per academic year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift or carry moderately heavy material weighing upto 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field plus 4 years ofexperience in an educational environment specifically related tostudent development and/or support services orAssociate’s degree in a related field plus 6 years of experience inan educational environment specifically related to studentdevelopment and/or support services.
  • Must have 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Requires high degree diplomacy, customer service, planning,coordination of labor, accountability, and problem solvingskill.
  • Must be able to work in collaboration with others andindependently.
  • Official transcripts will be required.
