Job summary

Dallas College seeks a Program Coordinator to advance Continuing Education and Workforce Development programs. You will work with students, instructors, employers, and community partners to design and deliver high-quality non-credit opportunities that meet workforce needs and student success goals.

You will lead program development, curriculum planning, recruitment of instructors, and coordination of schedules while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, plans, evaluates, and develops continuing education or workforce courses and programs.
  • Interacts daily with students and serves as a liaison between college, community, company, and sponsored personnel.
  • Reviews and participates in development of class schedules.
  • Analyzes, observes, and evaluates training effectiveness and recruitment of classes offered.
  • Collaborates to develop curricula, syllabi, and handouts; may perform needs assessments.
  • Participates in registration activities for designated program areas.
  • Recruits and orients instructors regarding Dallas College policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates meetings for instructors and identifies possible instructors.
  • Develops handouts, catalogs, brochures, and promotional materials for programs.
  • Maintains records and prepares statistical reports; monitors budget allocations.
  • Coordinates facilities for off-campus operations; provides excellent customer service to clients and students.
  • Recruits and advises potential students to programs.
  • Tracks and evaluates program satisfaction and outcomes for continuation or cancellation.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for coordination, identification, development,scheduling, promotion and evaluation of continuing education(non-credit) courses and educational programs that are offeredeither at the specific campus/location, off-site, and/or at aspecific company location.

Note: Various locations available ; Must have reliabletransportation and ability to travel locally to Dallas Collegecampuses and events as needed.

This position is funded by external grant resources. Employmentis contingent upon the availability of funding and program needs.Continued employment is not guaranteed and may be impacted iffunding is reduced, modified, or discontinued.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience and knowledge in program development, continuingeducation and workforce development.

  • Knowledge of district policies and procedures.

  • Skilled in program development, evaluation, and curriculum.

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and problem-solvingskills.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects/priorities.

  • Able to work with internal and external stakeholders in theplanning of existing and new Continuing Education and non-creditclasses and programs.

  • Demonstrate an ability to work closely with professional andgovernment organizations’ laws and policies as they pertain to theeducational programs being offered.

  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions confidently and wisely,after adequately considering various existing courses ofactions.

  • Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintainrecords, generate reports and communicate with others.

  • Skilled in research and evaluation techniques.

  • Excellent communication skills to support interaction betweenDallas College, other organizations and community groups.

  • Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customerservice.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard officeenvironment. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individualswith physical challenges to perform the essential duties andresponsibilities. Occasionally you may be required to lift andcarry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree and three (3) years of work-related experienceand knowledge in workforce development in a higher educationworkforce environment or five (5) years of work-related experienceand knowledge in workforce development in a higher educationworkforce environment.

  • Official transcripts will be required.

  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates, plans, evaluates, and develops continuing educationor workforce courses and educational programs.

  • Coordinate, plans and conducts meetings and developmentalactivities for instructors. Identifies possible instructors.

  • Develops handouts, designs catalogs, brochures and promotionalmaterials for the program area(s) assigned.

  • Maintain records, provide information required fordecision-making and complete related reports.

  • Prepares statistical reports, maintain files, and monitorassigned budget allocation.

  • Coordinates facilities for off-campus operations.

  • Provides excellent customer service to clients and students.

  • Recruit and advise potential students to programs.

  • Tracks and evaluates program satisfaction; determines programoutcome for purpose of continuation or cancellation.
