Job Description

Build educator and leader capacity through instructional coaching, professional learning, and job-embedded support grounded in research-based practices, with a primary focus on K–5 mathematics. Support small and rural districts and charter schools in implementing effective instructional strategies that enhance student engagement, strengthen teaching and learning, and improve academic outcomes across content areas.

Education/Certification
  • Master's Degree required.
  • Texas Teacher Certification required.
  • Administrative Certification preferred.

Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job‑specific content, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), state assessment and accountability system, and state initiatives and standards.
  • Demonstrate technology integration skills as appropriate for the role.
  • Demonstrate understanding and implementation of differentiated instruction to ensure success for all students.
  • Ensure a well‑articulated and coordinated comprehensive program and develop, maintain, and deliver services and professional learning in research‑based instructional practices specific to the content to improve student and district/charter school performance and close achievement gaps.
  • Provide effective leadership to all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate professional learning and provide technical assistance to campuses/districts/charter schools.
  • Ensure all grant requirements are fulfilled as assigned.
  • Have a working knowledge of the TEKS Resource System and its application to the work.
  • Use research supporting effective lesson design and demonstrate an understanding of TEKS/Guideline‑based instruction.
  • Demonstrate a skillset of research‑based instructional coaching and adult learning theory.
Supervisory Duties

None

Equipment / Specialized Software

Computers, projection devices, control panels in meeting rooms, printers, productivity software, software specific to the job assignment, network resources, internet resources, and other hardware and software necessary to perform functions effectively and efficiently.

Working Conditions

Mental: Public relations and people skills required, frequent interruptions, maintain professional composure and confidentiality under stress.

Physical: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, ability to move tables and chairs, load/unload boxes and materials, prolonged use of a computer, frequent regional and statewide travel, ability to stand, speak, and engage audiences for extended periods during training and presentations.

Environmental: Open cubicles/workstations.

Evaluation

Annual performance evaluation will be performed in accordance with the adopted policies of the Education Service Center Region 11. Employment is contingent upon performance, need, and funding.
