Elementary Coordinator Responsibilities (0.5)
- Assessment Management & Administration (WIDA Screener/ACCESS)
- Provide modeling and co-teaching of a variety of proven instructional methods, as well as use of materials and assessments in the classroom setting to increase teacher efficacy and enable teachers to utilize a variety of effective teaching techniques.
- Demonstrate methods required to perform classroom and/or subject-specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program addressing individual student requirements.
- Collaborate and support the development, design, and implementation of curriculum.
- Observe instruction to provide specific non-evaluative feedback to educators.
- Facilitate peer observations of teachers and/or coaches demonstrating instructional practices.
- Communicate purposely and frequently with teachers, principals, district-level administrators, and others in a variety of ways (e.g. emails, memos, newsletters, websites, study groups, etc.) for the purpose of sharing information.
- Facilitate conversations with individual teachers, grade level teams, departments/divisions, whole staffs, and other groups for the purpose of meeting building or district objectives.
- Identify coaching needs, interests, and desires through collaborative conversations with individual teachers, teams, and communities of practice for the purpose of providing appropriate and effective coaching.
- Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, data/assessment reports, staff attendance for PD hours, etc.) for the purpose of documenting progress and meeting mandated and/or district requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of best practices and research for instruction. Screening & Placement: Administers English Language Assessments (WIDA Screener/MODEL) for private schools
- Orders test materials, creates testing sessions, sets district schedules across domains, and monitors overall testing progress.
- Updates WIDA accounts, trains staff on administration/score interpretation, and provides technical support during testing.
Data Integrity, Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintains student records and conducts internal compliance audits on required EL/Bilingual documentation and parent communications.
- Verifies, updates, and corrects elementary student fields in Synergy and SIS to ensure state and district data accuracy.
Teacher Consultation & Program Implementation
- Serves as the primary district resource for elementary ML program implementation and collaborates with teachers serving multilingual learners.
- Coordinates with elementary teams to ensure complete and timely EL/Bilingual Progress Reports.
Department Operations & Resource Management
- Helps maintain the ML Department website and Google Shared Drives, and collaborates on department newsletters.
- Tracks teacher WIDA training compliance, inventories testing supplies, and orders MODEL/Screener materials as needed.
Instructional Coach Support (0.5)
- Develop positive and supportive relationships with classroom teachers, administrators, and staff, maintaining confidentiality when appropriate
- Build trust and rapport with the entire school for the purpose of establishing credibility.
- Collaborate with principals, individual teachers, and school sites for the purpose of implementing effective instructional practices with a focus on co-planning, co-teaching, and modeling.
- Design and facilitate professional learning related to effective instructional practices, which includes, but is not limited to, data analysis, differentiation, and technology integration
- Assist in identifying, planning, and facilitating professional learning opportunities for teachers for the purpose of improving student learning
