Job summary

Learn It Systems in New York is seeking a part-time Professional Development Workshop Consultant/Facilitator to join an educational team delivering high-quality workshops on reading and mathematics instruction and other topics for teachers and parents of K-8 students.

You will edit and deliver existing workshop content and develop new content based on current trends and policy; you will present to groups of teachers or parents, both in person and via webinars, and collaborate with program

Qualifications

• Must have a valid teaching certificate and be eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience in delivering professional development and coaching.
• Experience with Title I students is a plus.
• Flexible with scheduling, weekdays, weekday afternoons, and evenings, and delivery modes (webinars, coaching, workshops).
• Computer proficiency is required.
• Ability to provide high level customer service to principals, teachers and parents.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
• Work location is typically in school buildings and may involve stairs.
• Frequent standing and ability to raise arms.

Responsibilities

• Edit and deliver existing workshop content and develop new content based on educational trends, research, and policy.
• Deliver workshops to teachers or parents, in groups of around ten participants, or via webinars.
• Collaborate with program managers and school personnel to provide professional development and parent workshops.
• Engage audiences effectively, encourage participation, and act as an active listener and critical thinker during presentations.

Responsibilities

In this part-time position, you would be a part of an educational team consisting of an Area Manager, Program Supervisor and fellow educators working with a diverse population of students. This team works to deliver the highest-quality services, including professional development and parent workshops as it relates to reading and mathematics instruction and various other pertinent topics for teachers and parents of K-8th grade students.As a Professional Development Workshop Consultant/Facilitator, you will work closely with program managers, school personnel and teachers. This is a great opportunity to take your expertise, creativity and love for teaching to another level.

Candidates should be able to effectively edit and deliver already-developed innovative workshop content, and also develop new content as needed – based on current educational trends, research and policy.

Coaches will be a part of a collaborative team, but also work independently – working with managers to deliver workshops to teachers or parents as assigned. Candidates must be comfortable presenting in front of small and large groups, encouraging participation and directing activities for the group (average group size of teacher participants is ten). Must possess ability to engage an audience effectively and enthusiastically as well as be an active listener and critical thinker.
