Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant for the TCHS Brandywine Campus in Downingtown, PA for the 2026-2027 school year. 6.5 hours/day, 185 days/year, Monday through Friday.

The role supports the Career, Technical, & Customized Education division; requires high school diploma or GED and current clearances. Pay scales listed by degree level apply to this position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing basic skills in high school academics and CT programs.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain the learning environment.
• Support teachers and students, supervise during non-instructional times as allowed.
• Administer educational assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Applicants will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of basic skills in high school academics and the career and technical programs
• Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an educational setting
• Assisting the Teacher:
  • Preparing instructional materials
  • Maintaining discipline and other behavior management functions
  • Arranging the learning environment
  • Assembling, adjusting, and maintaining equipment and technology used in the instructional program
  • Administering educational assessments
  • Performing other duties as assigned
• Assisting with Students:
  • Working with individual students or small groups on activities assigned by the teacher
  • Assisting, within the constraints of specific program regulations, in the supervision of students during non-instructional times throughout the day such as lunchtime, entering or exiting the building, etc

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 185 days per year, 6.5 hours per day

• Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $19.38
