Job summary

Jordan School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant Self-Contained I PT at Elk Ridge Middle. The role supports the special education program under the teacher's direction and works 17 hours per week (Mon/Wed/Fri 9:30 AM–3:00 PM).

Responsibilities include assisting with IEP implementation, behavior support, and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom. Completion of Basic Training within one week is required, with a pathway to Lane4 through additional training within six months.

17 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

• Under the direction of the special education teacher, the para educator helps to implement the IEP (Individualized Education Plan), help manage behaviors, and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for students.

Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department. Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment.

Additional 40 hours of training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 5 upon completion. Training must be completed within six (6) months from hire date as a condition of employment.
