Instructional Assistant Professor in Oceanography – 12-month, non-tenure track position in the Department of Oceanography, Texas A&M University. This description reflects responsibilities and qualifications for the role (start date and terms may be historical in this version).

Responsibilities

• Teach one honors introductory oceanography lab section and at least one section of the introductory oceanography lecture course per semester.
• Coordinate lab class scheduling and train/mentor graduate student Teaching Assistants.
• Revise and develop lab curricula based on current pedagogical research.
• Publish results and/or seek extramural funding to explore teaching technologies or practices when appropriate.
• Engage in oceanographic research and collaborations while serving the instructional role.

Qualifications

• PhD in Oceanography, Geosciences or related discipline.
• Lab experience preferred; teaching experience required: 1 year (1) as a main instructor of a course or 2 semesters (2) as a teaching assistant.
