Job summary

Wentzville School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for ONCE Reading at Heritage Elementary. This temporary 2026-2027 position runs 10 months with a 35-hour work week and includes a full benefits package.

Starting pay is $16.92 per hour, with qualifications aligned to MO DESE standards and ParaPathways requirements. Candidate must have the ability to work with students, document progress, and implement feedback from coaches, while meeting language and phoneme articulation

TEMPORARY POSITION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR (Dependent upon title I funding)

Qualifications/Requirements

Instructional Assistants must meet the qualifications specified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in order to obtain a substitute teacher certificate and have a general understanding of the objectives of public school education. Candidates must be able to produce standard English phonemes with precision and consistency both in isolation and when blending them together into words (through connected phonation). Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in formal English. Pay meticulous attention to detail when preparing for instruction, attending to students, documenting students' progress, and implementing feedback from coaches. Instructional Assistants may initiate instruction and work independently with students.

This position also requires the applicant to be considered highly qualified by MO DESE. The ParaPathways Assessment through ETS must also be passed as a requirement for this position ONLY IF the applicant does not have an Associate's Degree or a Minimum of 60 college credit hours.
