Job summary

Lake Washington School District in Kirkland (Thoreau Elementary, within the Juanita Learning Community) is seeking a paraeducator to join the classroom support team. The role operates on an 183-day calendar with 4-hour days from 9:15 to 1:15 pm.

The hourly rate is $27.71, and the position falls under SEIU Local 925. You will assist teaching staff with instructional tasks and maintain an orderly classroom, with potential assignments in lunchroom, library, or after-school programs.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check.

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9. The position will be posted internally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on Thursday, August 20th, 2026.
