Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 48 credit hours or ACT WorkKeys passing score.
• Meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated success in relevant work experience.
• Ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment.
• Strong oral and written communication with students, parents and staff.
• Effective interpersonal skills, with collaboration across diverse groups.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and accept feedback.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to transfer students when requested.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its goals and priorities.
• Presents lessons or portions of lessons to students and checks accuracy of work.
• Helps students with books, computers, and classroom materials.
• Maintains routine records related to attendance, grades, and supplies as assigned.
• Maintains discipline and supports positive student behavior.
• Assists with field trips and bus discipline as needed.
• Supervises students in absence of certified staff.
• Implements behavior management planning with teachers.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Cooperates with staff to implement school priorities.
