Job summary

Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) in Columbus, OH is seeking a Paraprofessional (Instructional) Aide for full-time. Under supervision of certified staff, you will assist students to meet instructional goals and support classroom operations while helping teachers with non-professional duties.

The role covers guidance in reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction, with duties including supervision during lunch, field trips, and study halls.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of college coursework or No Child Left Behind requirements.
• Experience with special needs students desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually and in small groups to reinforce reading, language arts, and math.
• Assist with classroom activities, tests, and record-keeping.
• Support staff in instruction and materials preparation per individual student needs.
• Help with behavior management to keep a safe, orderly classroom.
• Supervise non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus duty, and study halls.
• Accompany students on field trips and assist with parent communication.
• Support students with disabilities to maximize inclusion and learning goals.
• Participate in IEPs and assist in evaluation processes as needed.
