Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at A+ Children’s Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The role supports teachers and staff to foster a positive learning environment for K-6 students.

The successful candidate will assist with lessons and classroom activities, participate in school events, and help maintain a safe, orderly classroom. A minimum Associate degree or Paraprofessional Exam is required, along with basic MS Office skills and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI check.
• Ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows instructional plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports the Teacher in student/parent relations.
• Assists with school activities (events, meetings, chaperoning, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading, copying).
• Assists in the use of classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classroom and common areas.
• Represents and upholds the school’s philosophy and mission.
• Other duties as assigned, including field trips and duties.
