Job summary

The Copper Country Intermediate School District has an immediate opening for an Instructional Aide in L’Anse, Michigan. You will support students with special needs, helping them succeed academically and socially in a collaborative team setting.

We offer starting pay of $18.00 per hour plus a $500 semester bonus stipend in special education classrooms, health and other insurance, paid holidays, and a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older and a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or two years post-secondary education in a related teaching/special education field of study a bonus.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs helpful.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others.
• Flexibility to work with a team to assist students inside or outside of the classroom and may include supporting as a bus aide.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• A desire to continually increase your knowledge and an unrelenting ability to make positive change in the lives of students.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• $18.00 or more per hour starting pay based on relevant experience.
• PLUS $500 bonus stipends available each semester for those working in special education classrooms.
• Health insurance, or if no health insurance is needed—-we’ll pay you $661.84/month instead (yes, even during the summer break).
