Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five years of institutional fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development experience.
  • At least two years of staff supervision and management experience.
  • Proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure grants.
  • Demonstrated expertise in grant portfolio management and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional grant writing and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with grants management software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead institutional funding strategy across foundation, corporate, and government sources.
  • Manage the complete funding pipeline: cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and relationship building with major funders.
  • Conduct strategic prospect research to identify new funding opportunities and evaluate funder fit.
  • Develop compelling grant proposals and detailed budgets for institutional funders.
  • Oversee grant portfolio management, including forecasting and pipeline development.
  • Administer awarded grants with full compliance to funder requirements and reporting obligations.
  • Evaluate and streamline grants management systems and workflows to improve organisational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with foundation partners and government agencies.
  • Coordinate funder site visits and facilitate meetings between donors and senior leadership.
  • Provide strategic guidance on philanthropic trends, best practices, and funding landscape developments.
  • Supervise and mentor fundraising staff.
