Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is listing a Scholarships Coordinator role to support the University of Central Missouri's Financial Aid Office.

The incumbent will work with Financial Aid Counselors to award Red & Black, Transfer, Departmental, and Foundation scholarships, post to Banner, and manage the scholarship email inbox. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and collaboration with academic departments and the UCM Foundation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Education may be substituted for experience; equivalencies apply as described in the ad.
  • Minimum of one year in an academic/support office with customer service experience.
  • Experience in a college/university financial aid office and Banner is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and posts Outside Scholarships to Student Awards within office policy timelines.
  • Oversees accurate posting of Red & Black Scholarships for new and returning students.
  • Oversees accurate posting of Transfer Scholarships to student awards.
  • Tracks and posts Foundation Scholarship funding in Banner; assists Director with awards.
  • Tracks Mule and DESE Grant recipients by cohort for reliable awards.
  • Collaborates with Academic Departments to award Departmental Scholarships.
  • Collaborates with UCM Foundation to ensure accurate posting for specific scholarships.
  • Monitors Scholarship Email Account and responds per Office Policy.
  • Collaborates with Admissions and other offices for posting/reporting of Institutional Scholarships.

Description

This position exists to support the Student Service side (Financial Aid Counselors) of the Financial Aid Office by awarding Red & Black Scholarships, Transfer Scholarships, Departmental Scholarships; posting Foundation Scholarships to Banner; monitoring the Scholarship Email Account; handling Outside Scholarships; Posting and Reporting for Institutional Scholarships; providing Financial Literacy Assistance Presentations/Development; and tracking and awarding the 15-to-Finish Scholarship.

Responsibilities
  • Collects and posts Outside Scholarships to Student Awards within time frames set by office policy.
  • Oversees the accurate posting of Red & Black Scholarships for new and returning students.
  • Oversees the accurate posting of Transfer Scholarships to student awards.
  • Accesses the UCM Scholarship Finder to track and post Foundation Scholarship funding in Banner and assists the Director with specific awards within that system.
  • Tracks Mule and DESE Grant recipients by cohort to ensure reliable and accurate awards.
  • Collaborates with Academic Departments to award Departmental Scholarships.
  • Collaborates with the UCM Foundation to ensure accurate posting for specific scholarships.
  • Monitors the Scholarship Email Account and provides responses conforming to Office Policy.
  • Collaborates with Admissions and other offices for the posting and reporting of Institutional Scholarships.
Typical Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA = 2 years experience; BA/BS = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience; PhD = 8 years experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of One (1) year of employment experience in an academic/support office in higher education/public school with customer service experience required.
  • Work experience in a college or university financial aid office preferred.
  • Work experience with Banner system is preferred.
