Job summary

The role requires prior mass food production experience and knowledge of inventory and safety procedures, with potential CDL considerations and on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time work experience in mass food production in a commercial, military, hospital, or institutional setting.
• A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience; thirty semester hours equals one year.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Cook 1, Cook 2, or Baker.

Responsibilities

• Procure, receive, and issue food service supplies; maintain FIFO inventory and safety standards.
• Prepare raw ingredients following recipes and ensure nutritional, appealing menu items.
• Serve meals with accurate portioning and sanitation; supervise incarcerated workers.
• Deliver food and trays to serving locations; maintain clean, safe equipment and surfaces.
• Supervise security procedures and maintain proper control of knives and tools.
• Maintain food safety, temperatures, sanitation logs, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide training; assist in documentation and report writing as needed.
