Job summary

The State of Iowa is seeking a Food Service Operations position to supervise and train incarcerated individuals in a secure facility. Responsibilities include procurement, meal preparation, serving, and delivery while maintaining strict sanitation and food safety standards.

Employees will ensure compliance with local and state food codes, document temperatures, and participate in routine training and reporting.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time work experience in mass food production in a commercial, military, hospital, or institutional food services setting.
• Within a period after hire, may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Ingredient Procurement-Order, receive and issue all Food Service supplies to provide adequate inventories for meals to be produced.
• Meal Preparation - Prepare raw ingredients by slicing, grating, cutting or chopping to add to future recipes.
• Meal Serving - Take accurate inventories prior to beginning service and assemble portions.
• Food Delivery - Deliver food and/or trays and supplies to alternate serving locations, maintaining sanitation and temperature.
