Job summary

Central Arizona College seeks a Full Time Faculty member to teach 15–20 inmate students at the Florence Complex, under the Prison Programs department. The role is funded through the Arizona Department of Corrections and requires a ServSafe instructor certification with at least five years of related culinary experience.

The instructor will manage multiple Food Preparation topics, oversee class progress, and ensure compliance with security and curriculum standards while supporting ongoing

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include recognized ServSafe instructor certification and at least five years of directly related occupational experience.
• Discipline areas include culinary arts, institutional/commercial food preparation, basic nutrition, hospitality and kitchen management.

Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of Food Preparation courses including Hospitality, Nutrition, ServSafe Certification, Dining and Beverage, Institutional Food Service, Food and Kitchen Management, Culinary Arts, and Baking.
• Attend to attendance, student projects, monitor progress, and develop curriculum for the assigned Arizona Department of Corrections unit.
• Instruct classes of 12 to 18 inmate/students, maintain safety and security clearances, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Job Summary

Full-time Faculty Members Are Professional Educators Whose Primary responsibility is to provide a quality education for Central Arizona College students. Faculty members perform instruction-related and other duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor, facilitator and evaluator of learning. Instructor will be teaching 15 to 20 inmate/students, at the Arizona State Prison - Florence Complex. Position is supported and funded through Arizona Department of Corrections, with a consistent and long history of contract renewal.

Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for shop equipment and an instructional classroom.
• Will teach a variety of Food Preparation courses including but not limited to Hospitality, Nutrition, ServSafe Certification, Dining and Beverage, Institutional Food Service, Food and Kitchen Management, Culinary Arts, and Baking. Class responsibilities include but are not limited to attendance, student projects, monitoring student progress, curriculum development, and other specific duties pertaining to the specific Arizona Department of Corrections unit that will be assigned.
• Instructor will be teaching classes of 12 to 18 inmate/students at the Arizona Prison Complex: Eyman. Position is dependent upon Arizona Department of Corrections funding. Position is full time - 12 months per year.**

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Recognized certification as a ServSafe instructor and at least five (5) years of directly related occupational experience in discipline related field such as: Culinary Arts, Institutional Food Preparation, Commercial Food Preparation, Basic Nutrition, Hospitality, and Food and Kitchen Management.
• Special Position Conditions: Applicant must be able to pass and maintain Arizona Department of Corrections security clearance. Must be able to obtain and keep State of Arizona Contractor Clearance ID.
