The Institute for Applied Health Intelligence (AHI) at UC San Diego is seeking an Institute Business Officer to manage the administrative services and daily operations in support of health transformation, innovation, training, and education. The IBO oversees financial management, contracts, HR, facilities, IT, and other operational support to advance program objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and five or more years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and HR/risk management.
• Experience developing annual budgets and coordinating multiple projects.
• Knowledge of extramural contracts and grants administration and university policies.

Responsibilities

• Financial strategy and multi-year budgeting, forecasting and funds-flow visibility.
• Establish administrative processes, planning cycles, risk tracking, and service standards.
• Governance enablement with budgets, dashboards and operating updates for leadership.
• Cross-school coordination across Medicine, Engineering, Data Science and Computing, Public Health and Health systems.
• Support research and program administration including ownership, costing and reporting.
• Coordinate workforce planning, recruitment operations, onboarding and team design.
• Provide business planning and coordination for philanthropy, grants and industry contracts.
