Job summary

HouseSmart Construction – Installer I is a full-time outdoor hands-on position within Clayton Homes’ HouseSmart division. No experience is required as training is provided, and you will work with a crew to prepare and assemble manufactured homes at multiple sites.

You’ll help with setup, material handling, and basic construction tasks while learning on the job. A team-oriented, safety-conscious attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up manufactured homes and assist the Crew Chief as a team member.
• Remove protective shipping wrap from homes and learn best removal methods.
• Unload exterior items like shingles and store them properly under guidance.
• Move tires, axles, and tongues up to 50 lbs with the team.
• Travel to each home site and assist with necessary construction tasks.
• Load/unload materials and keep tools and trucks organized.
• Assist with installer vapor barriers beneath the home.
• Gather materials for piers and help build them.
• Perform masonry work underneath the homes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Helping with the setup of all manufactured homes by...
• Work as a team player by helping the Crew Chief and team
• Remove protective shipping wrap from home – our team will show you the best ways to do this
• Remove and properly store exterior use items like shingles under the leadership of our experienced team members
• Work with the team to help remove tires, axles, and tongues which can weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Travel to each home site and assist the team necessary construction activities
• Load and unload materials, and keeping the tools & trucks organized
• Help installer vapor barriers beneath the home
• Gather materials for beginning piers and help build them
• Masonry work underneath the homes

When You’ll Be Doing It:

• Full‑time, Monday through Friday
• Pay: $17.00+ per hour (depends on experience)
• Paid weekly
