Job summary

ION Solar is seeking an Installer to join our growing residential solar team. You will assemble, install and maintain PV systems on rooftops, configure systems to site conditions, and ensure weather sealing and quality standards.

This role requires reading plans and manuals, using hand and power tools, and assisting electricians with electrical connections. A high school diploma is required; vocational training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read building plans.
• Ability to read equipment manuals.
• Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.
• Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, SalesForce, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and installs solar panels on roofs.
• Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers' needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid.
• Maintains high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
• Completes projects within established policies and procedures.
• Ensures that equipment is weather sealed.
• Performs routine maintenance on PV systems.
• Assists the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.PV installers work as part of a team.
