Job summary

Wind River Environmental is seeking an Installation Technician to safely install residential and commercial septic systems. You will operate heavy equipment such as excavators and skid steers, read blueprints, and coordinate with inspectors to ensure compliance.

You will work with customers and the team, perform system inspections, and educate clients on maintenance options. Overtime and on-call rotations may be required, with a base pay range of $24.00–$27.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to read and draw simple septic system diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and skid steers to dig trenches for septic tanks and drain lines.
• Read and interpret blueprints and site plans to determine proper system layout.
• Install septic tanks and piping systems according to local codes and permit requirements.

About The Role

As an Installation Technician, you'll play a key role in the safe and professional installation of residential and commercial septic systems, working directly with customers, health departments, and inspectors. You'll operate heavy equipment like excavators and skid steers, read blueprints and site plans, and ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to code.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $24.00 - $27.00 hourly at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience (excavators, skid steers)
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement and a clean driving record
• Prior septic installation and repair experience required
• Ability to read and draw simple septic system diagrams
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Basic computer literacy (email, internet)
• Must pass a DOT drug screen, physical exam, and road test
• Willingness to work weekends and on-call rotations during peak seasons
