Position Summary

The Installation Technician is based out of Knoxville, TN and is responsible for safely fabricating, inspecting, and installing fall protection systems while completing work orders within budgeted timeframes. This role requires strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability to changing jobsite conditions, attention to detail, and the ability to think quickly in the field. Professional communication, patience, and excellent customer service are essential when interacting with customers and team members. This full‑time position offers regular opportunities for overtime and requires frequent travelup to 95% of working hoursbased on project locations. Installation Technicians play a critical role in delivering high‑quality fall protection solutions that help customers protect workers and maintain safe work environments at height.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install fall protection systems using standardized installation practices and methods.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, building plans, and installation details to complete work accurately.
• Perform quality control inspections throughout all phases of fabrication and installation to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Safely operate company and rental vehicles to transport tools, equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and other company assets to ensure safe operation and job readiness.
• Adhere to all company and customer safety policies and procedures while working at heights, including the proper use of personal fall protection equipment.
• Access rooftops and elevated work areas using ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolding, platforms, or other approved methods while following safe work practices.
• Regularly lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds during system installation and material mobilization.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations required for layout, measurement, and installation activities.
• Assist team members with project‑related tasks and support overall jobsite operations to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Work independently, when assigned, to complete smaller installation projects, perform system testing, or complete service‑related tasks.
• Accurately complete required project documentation and communicate job progress, issues, and field conditions to supervisors.

Required Qualifications

Must be based out of Knoxville, TN 2+ years of experience in the same or related field Trade school graduate and/or higher-level education Advanced knowledge of hand tools and general construction practices 2+ years experience operating small cranes and boom trucks 2+ years experience in concrete footings, tying steel, excavating, operating a skid steer, man lifts, soil and compaction Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow established procedures and instructions Willingness and ability to work at heights in varying field conditions, including rooftops over 50 feet and extreme temperatures Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and meeting PPE requirements (PPE provided) Flexible and adaptable to schedule changes, travel demands (up to 95%), and dynamic job site conditions Reliable transportation to job sites and airports; must possess a smartphone capable of running required apps (e.g., Outlook, Teams, HCMToGo) Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong customer service focus and leadership potential Field construction means and methods background Experience with ironworking tools: mag drills, port-a-band, drill, etc. Experience with scissor lifts, aerial lifts, forklifts Eagerness to learn field construction methods and contribute positively to a team-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Fabrication, installation and/or construction-related experience AISC Steel Construction, foundations, Hilti anchor knowledge OSHA/ANSI Fall Protection standards knowledge

Physical Requirements

Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver up to 75 lbs without assistance and perform strenuous physical labor for 8+ hours per day, including climbing, overhead work, kneeling, squatting, crawling, pulling, and heavy lifting, often at elevation or while suspended from structures. Requires frequent and extended climbing of ladders, towers, scaffolding, and buildings, and working suspended in fall protection harnesses, sometimes in awkward or confined positions, and often on sloped, uneven, or unstable surfaces with minimal guardrails. Must tolerate extreme environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, direct sunlight, airborne particles, dust, fumes, vibration, and mechanical hazards. Requires full range of motion, physical agility, and strong fine/gross motor coordination to navigate tight spaces, transition across structural elements, and operate hand and power tools safely at height. Must adhere to strict safety protocols and be able to wear and function in required PPE for extended periods, including but not limited to harnesses, helmets, respirators, gloves, durable long pants and steel-toed boots. Must be able to safely attach and operate fall protection systems rated for a total all-in weight capacity of 310lbs Must have the ability to travel up to 95%, including to all 50 states and international destinations (valid passport required if eligible), and possess visual and auditory acuity to detect hazards and ensure safety compliance.

Work Schedule

This is a full‑time position. The work schedule for this position varies depending on client location and operational requirements. This position may require hours beyond standard working hours and weekend work to satisfy job duties and department demand.
