Job summary

CACI is hiring an Installation Technician to support the Defense Intelligence Agency through facility-wide IT life-cycle projects. You will prepare, execute, and close out IT refresh activities at client sites, primarily around the National Capital Region, with travel up to 75%.

This full-time role requires TS/SCI clearance with poly, DOD 8140, and 5+ years of hands-on IT experience; you will install, test, troubleshoot, and document systems while adhering to SOPs and managing assets and risks.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current TS/SCI clearance with poly required.
  • DOD 8140 Certification (Security+ minimum).
  • Experience: HS + 12+, AA +10, BS/BA +8, or MS/MA +6 years.
  • Understanding BOM for installation activities and installation schedule timelines.
  • Proven track record in deployment and maintenance of extensive global networks and IC ITE services (5+ years).
  • Proficient in equipment, software, and systems installations; troubleshooting; CRM; change management; IT service management.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies.
  • Proficiency in classified IT environments and knowledge of ICD 503, DCID 6/3, DIACAP, and NIST; ITIL 4 Foundation.

The Opportunity:

The CIS program supports our intelligence customer deliver IT services to conduct its globally distributed operations. We are driving an exciting technological transformation of customer IT services by leading the design, development, implementation, and operation of cutting-edge solutions. This includes continuous service improvement through the modernization of IT system infrastructure.

CACI is looking for an experienced, innovative, and motivated Installation Technician to support the mission objectives and needs of the customer, the Defense Intelligence Agency. In this role you will be the hands‑on executor of customer technology refresh projects. Your tasks will primarily be related to the preparation, execution, and closing of facility‑wide end user IT life cycling projects. You will conduct work at customer sites, mainly around the national capital region and must be able to travel to and between sites independently.

The position is contingent upon award of the DIA SITE III CIO Infrastructure Services (CIS) contract.

Responsibilities:
  • Expertise in IT infrastructure equipment, systems, and related component
  • May supervise or lead installation and assembly work done by other equipment specialists
  • Able to work independently to maintain equipment and systems and conducts testing and troubleshooting
  • Investigates equipment and system failures and performs root cause analysis to determine repair scope or replacement work required
  • Implements break/fix solutions for replacement repair and or recovery of elements for operational systems
  • Develops and promotes efficiencies and innovative processes for installation, deployment, and maintainability of IT equipment and systems
  • Develops and ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to system and component installation, configuration, and connectivity deployments
  • Responsible for asset and materials management, equipment/material management, installation management, and equipment decommission management in support projects related to IT assets for Tech Refresh
  • Serves as key point of contact for stakeholder collaboration, change management, and risk management associated with global equipment logistics, deployment, and installation project services
  • Aids in creation of content required documentation, reports, and data adhering to schedule, format, and content requirements specified by the contract
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Must hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
  • DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
  • HS and 12+ years of experience, an AA and 10+ years of experience, BS/BA and 8+ years of experience, or MS/MA and 6+ years of experience
  • Possesses understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) for installation activities and develops and maintains timeline of installation schedule for projects
  • Proven track record in the deployment and maintenance of extensive global networks and systems, complemented by a thorough grasp of IC ITE services with a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on IT experience
  • Demonstrate proficiency in equipment, software, and systems installations; troubleshooting; customer relationship management; change management; risk management; and IT service management
  • Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies
Desired:
  • Proficiency in classified IT environments, terminology, equipment lifecycles, and IT asset management
  • Knowledgeable in ICD 503, DCID 6/3, DIACAP, and NIST standards to ensure robust information assurance and compliance
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
