Job summary

Planned Systems International, Inc. is seeking an IT Installation Hardware Technician to join our team in Arlington, VA.

You will support repair, maintenance, logistics and engineering services to ensure secure, available Endpoint IT systems at Federal sites. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and network issues, desktop and printer support, cable management, imaging, and SOP updates, with a focus on customer service and efficient ticket handling.

Qualifications

  • Active T3 investigation with ability to obtain required security clearances.
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and device issues (PCs, printers, cabling).
  • Diagnose problems with desktops, printers, mobile devices, and office equipment.
  • Perform basic hardware work: cable management, desktop installation, imaging.
  • Update standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Validate ticket details and escalate through the ticketing system.
  • Participate in/lead special projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain customer focus and deliver high-quality service.
  • Interact daily with supervisor, peers and customers.

Overview

We are currently seeking an IT Installation Hardware Technician will be part of a dynamic team that provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Endpoint IT Systems.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware and network issues including video cards, desktop/laptop issues, cabling and physical layer networking issues, and printer troubleshooting and/or maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with desktop systems, printers, digital senders, mobile devices and other standard office equipment.
  • Complete basic hardware work as directed, such as cable management, desktop PC installation, monitors, KVM's, and laptop imaging and issuance.
  • Provide input and update to standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct validation of ticket information to ensure completeness and accuracy and escalat**e** issues via ticketing system and requests for assistance as needed.
  • Participate in/lead special projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Consistently remain customer focused and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Interact daily with supervisor, peers, and customers and provide polite and friendly customer service.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Minimum Requirements
  • Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE).
Desired Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience
Physical Demands
  • Walking to multiple offices at the customer site to survey and deliver replacement hardware (desktops and laptops).
