Job summary

Holman Enterprises in Bartlett, IL is seeking an Installation Mechanic to install aftermarket equipment on rail trucks and fleet vehicles. You will mount service bodies, racks, cranes, generators, and other components, and perform 12V electrical wiring and hydraulic system connections.

The role requires 2–4 years in vehicle upfitting or related fields, strong hands-on skills, and willingness to work in a shop with some outdoor conditions. Pay starts at $26/hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in vehicle upfitting, rail truck equipment installation, or a related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on installation experience.
• Experience working with hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install aftermarket equipment on new rail trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Mount and secure service bodies, racks, cranes, generators, and other components.
• Perform 12V electrical wiring and connections.
• Install and connect hydraulic systems and components.
• Perform basic fabrication per FMVSS compliance, drilling, cutting, and mounting as required.
• Test installed equipment to ensure proper operation prior to final inspection.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues as needed.
• Verify completion of all work order line items to meet quality standards.
