Overview

Our customer is seeking an Installation Manager to oversee residential telecommunications installation operations in the Wilmington and Jacksonville, North Carolina markets.

The Installation Manager will oversee approximately 2–3 Installation Supervisors and their field technician teams while driving overall operational performance across the installation program. This role is responsible for field execution, staffing, productivity, quality, customer service, workforce planning, and leadership development.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading telecommunications, broadband, cable, coax, fiber, satellite, or residential installation operations and is comfortable managing leaders while balancing customer requirements, operational goals, quality standards, and field performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage approximately 2–3 Installation Supervisors and their respective technician teams.
• Provide leadership, coaching, accountability, and development to field Supervisors.
• Oversee daily residential installation operations across the assigned market.
• Ensure staffing levels align with installation volume and customer demand.
• Monitor productivity, quality, customer service, attendance, and technician performance.
• Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and training initiatives.
• Ensure all installations meet company, customer, OSHA, safety, and quality standards.
• Identify operational issues and implement solutions to improve field performance.
• Review performance metrics and address trends related to productivity, quality, repeat work, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure Supervisors are effectively coaching and managing their technician teams.
• Support escalated field, customer, and technician issues.
• Oversee scheduling and workforce coverage, including evenings and weekends.
• Ensure vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials are appropriately managed.
• Maintain strong communication with customer leadership regarding field execution and staffing.
• Provide regular operational updates to leadership.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and strong customer service.
• Support continued growth of the installation operation as technician headcount increases.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience within cable, coax, fiber, telecommunications, broadband, satellite, or residential installation operations.
• Previous management experience overseeing Installation Supervisors, field teams, multiple crews, or a large residential installation operation.
• Strong understanding of residential telecommunications installation operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage team performance, productivity, quality, and customer expectations.
• Experience hiring, developing, coaching, and managing field employees.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to analyze operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both field employees and customer leadership.
• Proficiency with computer systems, reporting tools, and operational tracking systems.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle records (MVR) review.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
• Strong leadership and operational management capabilities.

• Experience managing residential coax installation operations.
• Experience managing residential fiber installation operations.
• Experience overseeing multiple field teams across a service territory.

Work Environment

• Combination of office‑based and field‑based leadership responsibilities.

• Work may involve supporting both aerial and underground infrastructure operations.
• Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours as operational needs require.

Technician schedules may include:

• Sunday‑Wednesday
• Wednesday‑Saturday
• Friday‑Monday

Typical technician shifts may include:

• 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The Installation Manager must be available to support operational, staffing, customer, and field issues outside traditional business hours when required.

Compensation

• Target: $80,000–$85,000 annually (flexible based on experience)
