Job summary

DynaDome is seeking an Installation Foreman / Lead Installer in Crown Point, IN to lead an assigned crew installing specialty aluminum and glazing enclosure systems. You will plan daily work, install alongside the crew, and ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient execution.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and site needs with project leadership. This role offers hands-on leadership in a growing manufacturing environment with field and factory

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5+ years in field installation or related construction work.
• 2+ years leading crews or daily field leadership.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.
• OSHA 10 completed; other credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Description

DynaDome is seeking an experienced Installation Foreman / Lead Installer to lead an assigned crew installing specialty aluminum and glazing enclosure systems. This hands-on role plans daily work, performs installation alongside the crew, and drives safe, high-quality, and efficient execution.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Foreman works closely with the Project Manager and field operations leadership to coordinate labor, materials, equipment, site conditions, progress, and emerging project needs .

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and direct the assigned crew's daily work using approved drawings, work packages, priorities, and installation sequence.
  
• Conduct pre-task planning, toolbox talks, job-hazard reviews, crew briefings, and equipment checks; verify PPE, fall protection, and other required controls.
  
• Coordinate the crew's tools, equipment, lifts, rigging, materials, staging, housekeeping, and immediate work-area needs.
  
• Keep the crew working from current approved documents and stop or elevate work when information is missing, conflicting, unsafe, or outside approved scope.
  
• Monitor crew progress, productivity, labor hours, equipment, materials, delays, and constraints; report variance early and help limit avoidable rework, downtime, and cost.
  
• Inspect work in progress and completed work to verify proper fit, alignment, fastening, sealing, finish, weather-tightness, and overall workmanship; identify and correct deficiencies before work continues or is concealed.
  
• Resolve routine crew-level installation issues within approved procedures and promptly escalation drawing, design, scope, schedule, cost, or customer concerns.
  
• Provide complete daily records, progress information, photos, as-built information, and closeout documentation.

In stallation Readiness and Project Controls

• Participate in installation-readiness discussions by identifying crew, drawing, material, equipment, access, safety, and sequencing needs before mobilization.
  
• Serve as the Project Manager's eyes and ears for the assigned work. Provide accurate daily updates, photographs, labor and progress information, and prompt notice of delays, shortages, changed conditions, or potential added cost.
  
• Complete assigned field activities supporting testing, commissioning, customer training, turnover, demobilization, and project closeout.

Manufacturing-Facility Contribution

When assigned to the manufacturing facility, you will remain a hands-on contributor supporting manufacturing, assembly, layout, fit-up, material preparation, packing, and installation readiness. You will partner with the Plant Manager and other team members to share field lessons, coach validated work methods, improveinstallation readiness, and complete agreed manufacturing priorities. From time to time, the Plant Manager may delegate responsibility to lead a definedmanufacturing activity, provide temporary leadership coverage, or lead an approved continuous-improvement initiative informed by field experience and providefeedback.

What You Bring

• High school diploma required.
  
• Technical training, trade-school coursework, apprenticeship training, or an associate's degree in construction, manufacturing, engineering technology, or a related field is desirable.
  
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in field installation, structural or specialty construction, metal-building erection, mechanical assembly, millwright work, manufacturing, or a comparable environment.
  
• At least two years of demonstrated experience leading crews or directing daily field work.
  
• Ability to independently read and apply construction, manufacturing, and installation drawings and specifications.
  
• Ability and willingness to work safely from heights and at elevation using required fall-protection systems.
  
• Practical job-site math and layout skills, including measurement, fractions, decimals, angles, elevations, squaring, leveling, and transferring dimensions from approved drawings to field conditions.
  
• Working proficiency with applicable lifts, forklifts, rigging, power tools, and measuring/layout equipment.
  
• Strong field judgment, documentation discipline, respectful leadership, conflict-resolution ability, and clear written and verbal communication.
  
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to meet company vehicle-insurability requirements.
  
• Ability and willingness to travel out of town, stay overnight, and work project schedules that may include extended days, overtime, weekends, and multi-week assignments.
  
• OSHA 10 completed or obtained within the company-established timeframe; OSHA 30, first-aid/CPR, competent-person, and other relevant credentials are preferred.
  

Other Desirable Skills

• Ability and experience safely operating large trucks and towing, backing, maneuvering, inspecting, and securing applicable trailers, subject to required licensing, qualification, and company authorization.
  
• Experience with pre-engineered buildings, metal-building erection, curtain-wall construction, or the erection and installation of structural aluminum and glazing components.
  
• Knowledge of crane lifting operations, load handling, and rigging practices; forklift and other relevant credentials are also desirable.

Physical and Work Environment

This role regularly works in active manufacturing and construction environments with noise, dust, weather, moving equipment, and changing site conditions. The employee must frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, kneel, reach, and work at elevation using required fall protection. The role requires frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and pushing, pulling, or positioning tools and materials; team lifting or mechanical assistance must be used for heavier, awkward, or oversized loads. Out-of-town and overnight travel is required based on project needs.
