Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Manassas, VA is seeking a field service professional to support customers with machine down situations, upgrades and retrofits.

The role requires travel to customer sites and occasional off-shift work, with emphasis on hands-on problem solving and collaboration with engineering teams. You will contribute to New Product Development in the field and assist in creating field service bulletins while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites on short notice for Machine down, upgrades and retrofits.
• Support New product Development within engineering and in the field.
• Assist in the development of field service bulletins.
• Support technical escalations conference calls.
• Travel 25-50%.
• Support DFX process.
• Has developed proficiency in a range of analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks.
• Has a good understanding of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives.
• May provide informal guidance and support to more junior team members.
• Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures.
• Impacts the quality of own work and its contribution to the team.
• Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information.
