Position Reports to: Operations Manager
FLSA: Exempt
The Appliance Installation Manager oversees daily installation operations, ensuring appliances are installed safely, correctly, and on schedule. This position leads installation specialists, electricians, plumbers, helpers, and trainers; coordinates staffing and assignments; and maintains high standards for workmanship, customer service, and operational efficiency.
The manager works closely with Sales, Logistics, Delivery, Service, and other departments to resolve installation challenges and provide a positive customer experience.
Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise installation employees, including specialists, helpers, and lead trainers.
- Establish clear expectations for job performance, attendance, professionalism, safety, and customer service.
- Provide coaching, conduct performance evaluations, and address performance concerns in partnership with Human Resources.
- Coordinate with the Senior Installation Lead Trainer
- Assess employee skills and assign work according to experience, qualifications, and required supervision.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting installation employees.
Daily Operations
- Oversee installation schedules, staffing, workloads, and job assignments.
- Review job requirements to confirm that crews have the appropriate tools, materials, equipment, and information.
- Coordinate with other departments to address site readiness, product availability, scheduling changes, and installation requirements.
- Monitor job completion, productivity, overtime, and repeat visits.
- Ensure vehicles, tools, and installation equipment are maintained and ready for use.
Installation Quality and Customer Service
- Conduct quality reviews and identify opportunities to improve craft and reduce installation errors.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Investigate and track installation-related damage, incomplete work, and callbacks, and document findings.
Safety and Compliance
- Reinforce safe lifting, appliance handling, driving, tool use, and personal protective equipment practices.
- Ensure work requiring a license is assigned to appropriately licensed personnel, with required supervision.
- Maintain training and qualification records and monitor license renewal needs.
Administration and Process Improvement
- Review time records and ensure accurate documentation of completed work, materials used, and unresolved issues.
- Track operational results, including installation completion, callbacks, customer concerns, and safety incidents.
- Recommend improvements to staffing, equipment, training, and workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Prior management or team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of appliance installation methods, manufacturer requirements, carpentry skills, tools, and safe handling practices.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to coach employees, manage competing priorities, and resolve field challenges.
- Comfort using scheduling, timekeeping, and business software.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
- Relevant trade licenses or certifications preferred; required when performing work that requires licensure.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Work takes place in office, warehouse, and customer settings, with travel between company locations and installation sites. Duties may involve standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and moving heavy or bulky appliances using appropriate equipment and team assistance. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
