Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

• Install subassemblies to form structural assemblies of sweepers, partially or completely, under immediate supervision.
• Set up the job by locating parts and the correct job numbers.
• Install hydraulic and electrical components.
• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, spaced clips, rivets, cotter pins or other fasteners using hand tools and portable power pneumatic tools (e.g., impact wrench).
• Position and bolt engine block components to the truck body using wrenches, hammers, and power hoist.
• Assemble the truck body of the unit and prep the hopper.
• Bolt subassemblies, power module, fan housing, and set fan clearance to the engine using torque wrench and other hand tools.
• Remove small quantities of metal with hand files and pneumatic tools to produce a close fit between parts.
• Operate drills, riveting machines, or hydraulic crimping machines to assist in assembly operations.
• Identify and distribute parts to the proper location.
• Operate forklift and crane/hoist as required.
• Accurately record work order information and inventory transactions; assist with inventory corrections as needed.
• Must purchase own tools.
• Work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 50–75 pounds alone.
• Manual dexterity, mechanical inclination, and good eye/hand coordination.
• Knowledge and skill in use of calipers and other measuring devices.
