Job summary

Rite-Hite in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Field Technician to install, inspect, service, and repair equipment in the field. You will work with a senior technician, read blueprints and manuals, and maintain accurate paperwork on handheld devices.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and passing a DOT medical exam. You will operate cranes, forklifts, welders, and power tools, while following safety requirements and company policies to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills, product-line knowledge, and proficiency in company policies and procedures.
• Complete assigned tasks individually or under the guidance of a senior Technician.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships consistent with Rite-Hite's customer-service standards.
• Assist with installation, inspection, service, and repair of equipment in the field under a senior Installation Technician.
• Work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Perform planned maintenance and other assigned tasks.
• Complete required training classes and modules.
• Accurately complete field-service, repair, and installation paperwork using handheld devices or paper backup forms.
• Maintain compliance with Field Technician Handbook operation and communication standards.
• Operate truck-based cranes, forklifts, welders, torches, and power and hand tools.
• Follow company, customer, and customer-specific safety requirements and directions.
• Collaborate with other company departments to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Prior mechanical, electrical or welding experience helpful but not required
• Valid driver's license
• Passing DOT medical exam
• Applicable driver qualification standards at all times
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to written, oral, or diagram instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
