TEKsystems is seeking Cable Technicians to join a hands-on team supporting data center and enterprise environments in Berwick, PA. You will install and test Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, assist with equipment, and document work using tickets and inventories. A solid grounding in low-voltage cabling and basic networking is essential.

This is a fully onsite contract role with opportunities to grow in IT operations. Preferred candidates understand IT infrastructure, can read diagrams, and communicate

Cable Technician / Data Center Infrastructure Technician

What You'll Do

• Install, route, terminate, and test Cat5e and Cat6 network cabling.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure in data center and enterprise environments.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and cabling issues to ensure optimal system performance.
• Document work performed using ticketing systems, spreadsheets, and inventory tools.
• Read and interpret diagrams, layouts, and work instructions to complete projects accurately.
• Assist with equipment installation, rack and stack activities, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project milestones and operational deadlines.
• Provide basic technical support and help resolve infrastructure-related issues.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, or structured cabling.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and IT infrastructure.
• Comfortable using Excel and other computer-based documentation tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ Certification
• CompTIA Network+ Certification
• Experience working in data centers, construction, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics environments.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, inventory tracking, and technical documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working on your feet throughout the day.
• Ability to safely move equipment, server racks, carts, and materials as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures and wear required safety equipment (PPE).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Berwick, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
