SunCommon is a market leading renewable energy company operating in Vermont and New York’s Hudson Valley and Capital District. We use an innovative approach to marketing, via high-touch, personal interactions with home and business owners who want clean electricity and more energy security. We’ve done all the legwork to put together a total package that’s easy for the customer. We picked the best equipment manufacturers, arranged attractive financing that saves our customers real money and hired up the finest installers. There’s over 8,000 happy SunCommon residential and commercial customers so far — and lots more to come. Organized as a Benefit Corporation and certified as a BCorp, we’re committed to the triple bottom line of People, Planet and Profit. Our goal is to become the largest publicly traded, BCorp in the country producing renewable energy.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, SunCommon’s Install Crew Supervisor is responsible for reviewing plan sets, assisting in job planning, driving job site efficiencies, training new staff and new products, and ensuring safe and successful PV installations. This is a field/office hybrid position with a majority of the time based in the field on active and inactive construction sites.

Strong communications skills are essential for this role. The InstallCrew Supervisor is responsible for communicating job highlights and areas of focus to Crew Leads, reporting crew efficiency highlights and shortfalls to the VP of Ops, and providing appropriate feedback to other operations managers to build towards a more efficient process.

Safety - for our team, our customers, and their property - is our highest priority. The Install Crew Supervisor is expected to follow all safety protocols and keep up with advancements in PV and other relevant technologies.

In depth knowledge of PV and electrical installation and design are a must for this role. The Install Crew Supervisor will spend the majority of their time working on‑site with the installation crews but may work independently to gather vital information from the Design Team, Electrical Program Manager, Commercial Program Manager, Project Management Team and other support staff. The Install Crew Supervisor will be a go‑to source for Installation Teams for on site troubleshooting, and any field obstacle that affects an installation's efficiencies. Significant driving across the state is part of the job, and a dedication to taking the best possible care of our customers and your colleagues is essential.
