You will develop IEPs, collaborate with general education teachers, and monitor student progress. A SPED certification is required, with strong communication and organizational skills essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education required.
• Teaching certification/licensure in Michigan for secondary SPED required or endorsements in Special Education.
• Experience with students with disabilities and IEPs a must.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with staff, students, and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Assess student performance using diverse methods (tests, projects, presentations).
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
• Deliver direct instruction in various settings (1:1, small groups, co-taught).
• Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to include students with special needs in all activities.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and services.
