Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center in Abilene, TX is seeking a part-time Instructor to deliver Sylvan curriculum and provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math and college prep. The role offers very flexible hours (4-20 per week) with on-site teaching and opportunities for growth through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include supervising students, tracking progress, and collaborating with the center manager to meet student needs.

Qualifications

• Previous teaching or tutoring experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep and State exams to students in a small group setting.
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials.
• Evaluate and document student progress and communicate needs to the center manager.
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment and maintain a fun, supportive atmosphere.
