Qualifications

  • Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement for Art.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience.
  • Must meet highly qualified requirements as defined by No Child Left Behind.
  • Ability to develop curriculum for secondary grades.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver art lessons aligned with Michigan standards.
  • Use technology to support instruction.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies.
  • Help students who are behind or struggling to learn content.
  • Collaborate with teachers to improve learning.
  • Communicate with students and parents about progress and needs.
  • Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Maintain classroom discipline per school rules.
  • Use formative, summative, and interim assessments to inform instruction.
  • Create classroom assessments that measure student proficiency per Michigan standards.
