Responsibilities

Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
Plans a program of study to meet individual student needs and shows preparation evidence on request.
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Supervises students to protect health and safety and maintains classroom order.
Assesses student progress and maintains records as required by policy and law.
Diagnoses learning disabilities and consults with district specialists as needed.
Supports administration in enforcing policies and rules and sets classroom behavior standards.
Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides/volunteers and evaluate their performance.
Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
