Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs and prepares for classes.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' maturity.
• Supervises students to protect health and safety and protect materials and facilities.
• Assesses student progress and maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and seeks district specialist assistance when needed.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and develops classroom rules and maintains order.
• Plans and is available to students/parents outside instructional hours when requested.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluates their performance.
