Job summary

Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a Physical Education Teacher for the Darby Vassall Upper School. The position is a 0.5 FTE role teaching health, physical education, and wellness, following SHAPE America standards and Massachusetts frameworks.

The teacher will provide direct PE and adapted instruction for students with disabilities, collaborate with related staff, and support inclusive, student-centered learning within a supportive district environment.

Qualifications

• Direct PE instruction for students with disabilities.
• Explicit instruction to develop motor skills.
• Collaborate with PE, general and special education teams.
• Plan and assess IEP goals within PE.
• Maintain program documentation and records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver PE aligned with SHAPE America and MA Health Frameworks.
• Provide specially designed instruction in general and adapted PE settings.
• Collaborate with PE, general ed, special ed, and related service staff.
• Administer assessments and monitor progress toward IEP goals.
• Manage reports, data, inventory, and purchasing.
