Job summary

Crescent Academy in Michigan is seeking a passionate Math Teacher for grades 7-8. The role focuses on creating engaging lessons, fostering a love of mathematics, and delivering instruction that meets diverse learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold a Michigan secondary education certification in mathematics and bring strong collaboration, assessment, and communication skills to support student success and the academy's mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Strong knowledge of math curriculum and state standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive math lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
• Regular and predictable attendance
