Job summary

Perry Township School District is seeking a dedicated Middle School Cheerleader Sponsor at Southport Middle School. The role focuses on teaching fundamentals, strategy, and physical training while promoting character, self-discipline and pride among student athletes.

The sponsor collaborates with athletic staff, manages equipment and budget, recruits athletes, and communicates with media and the community to support the program’s success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required as stated in the Education section.
• Experience in athletic program management or coaching is preferred per responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor program budget with athletic director for next season.
• Recommend equipment guidelines and manage inventory and costs.
• Ensure proper securing and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
• Promote the sport within and outside the school through outreach and media.
• Supervise staff, train assistants, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Coordinate transportation, scheduling and tournament logistics.
• Mentor student athletes on character, grades and conduct.
• Maintain public relations with media, boosters and parents.
