Fitchburg Public Schools seeks Long-Term Substitute teachers for Memorial Middle School in Fitchburg, MA. Immediate start available to cover teacher absences with a focus on delivering quality instruction aligned to district standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 credits preferred.
• Massachusetts DESE license preferred.
• Knowledge of education legislation/regulations.
• Ability to work with teachers, support staff and parents.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and positive environment in place of the teacher or paraprofessional.
• Monitor and supervise students with effective classroom management.
• Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
• Implement lesson plans.
• Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies including technology to increase learning.
• Follow district policies when working with students, parents and colleagues.
• Guide learning toward curriculum standards and establish clear objectives.
• Differentiate instruction using RTI to provide appropriate opportunities.
• Maintain records as required by district policy.
• Meet and instruct students as scheduled; communicate with students, colleagues and parents.
• Promote equity and diversity and support students with special needs/504 plans/EL.
