Job summary

Atherton Community Schools is seeking a kindergarten/1st grade teacher for Atherton Elementary School to provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment aligned with Michigan standards.

The teacher will assess progress, differentiate instruction, collaborate with families and staff, participate in MTSS/IEP/504 processes, and maintain accurate records while communicating with parents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate.
• Early childhood coursework or endorsement preferred.
• MTSS, PBIS knowledge and differentiation skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the Michigan K–12 Standards and district curriculum.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment that supports student growth.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative measures and use data to inform instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, families, and support staff to support student success.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports in a timely manner.
