Job summary

Kent Place School is seeking a Varsity Assistant Ice Hockey Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The role requires prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate or club level and mandates high school experience. Hours are 3:45–5:45 p.m., with games potentially running later, and the winter season runs from November 16, 2026 to March 7, 2027.

The Athletics Department reports to the Director of Athletics. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential to support

Qualifications

Must have coaching experience at high school level.
Understand the fundamentals of ice hockey.
Have the ability to motivate athletes to reach their potential.
Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Coach at the required level and motivate athletes to reach their potential.
Maintain supervision of student-athletes at practices and during school-provided transportation.
Communicate ideas and directives clearly, both orally and in writing.
Promote good public relations through professional standards of conduct and presentation.
Attend a mandatory preseason parent meeting and training session with the Athletic Dept.
Assist with coaching clinics, banquets, and other events as assigned.
