Pope John Paul II High School in Lacey, WA is seeking a passionate STEM teacher to join our faculty, teaching high school math and science including AP courses. The role involves delivering engaging, hands-on instruction, adapting to diverse learners, and using technology to enhance learning. Start date is August 18, 2026; reports to the Principal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or related field.
• Valid state teaching certification (or eligibility).
• Ability to teach high school mathematics and science; strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school mathematics and science courses based on student needs and scheduling.
• Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum.
• Incorporate project-based learning, inquiry, and STEM-focused instructional strategies.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners.
• Foster critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Utilize instructional technology to enhance student learning.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
• Serve as a positive role model while promoting academic excellence.
