Job summary

San Angelo ISD Lamar Elementary in San Angelo, Texas is seeking a qualified 1st Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position reports to the Principal and requires a Texas teaching certificate and a Bachelor's degree.

The teacher will implement district curriculum and TEKS, utilize varied instructional strategies, analyze data to drive student growth, manage a positive classroom, and collaborate with staff, students, and families to support learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for subject/level assigned.
• Knowledge of TEKS/SE and district curriculum standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Teach TEKS/SE per TEA and district guidelines.
• Use varied instructional techniques and integrate technology.
• Collaborate with staff to meet instructional goals.
• Analyze data to meet academic needs.
• Plan and supervise instructional aides/ volunteers.
• Manage student behavior and maintain classroom environment.
• Establish open communication with students, parents, colleagues.
