Job summary

Learning Jungle is seeking a compassionate ECE Substitute Teacher in North Carolina to provide classroom coverage and support to teaching staff. You will deliver developmentally appropriate activities, supervise children aged 0–5, and maintain a positive learning environment.

The role emphasizes play-based instruction, adherence to safety protocols, and clear communication with families. Applicants should have a high school diploma, relevant coursework, CPR/First Aid, and be prepared to complete

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of at least one course in early childhood education or child development preferred (e.g., NCECC).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• TB screening and a health examination prior to employment.
• Criminal background check as required by North Carolina regulations.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Health and safety training completed within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Coverage: Step into classrooms as needed to support staff.
• Curriculum Implementation: Assist with play-based, developmentally appropriate activities and lessons.
• Child Supervision: Ensure safety and well-being of all children at all times.
• Engagement and Interaction: Foster relationships and encourage exploration, learning.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a respectful, inclusive classroom atmosphere and support positive behavior.
• Family Communication: Update parents/caregivers on activities and important information.
• Compliance: Follow licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and Learning Jungle policies.
