Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of core academic subject area.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• At least one-year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for differences among students.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and policies.
• Plan using strategies reflecting diverse learning styles and needs.
• Conduct assessments and use results to guide instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for IEPs.
• Work with campus teams to set instructional goals and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
